About Joshua
I'm Joshua, an American English teacher with a B.A. in Linguistics and a 120-hour TEFL certification. I've been teaching and designing curriculum for English learners for years, with a focus on making lessons engaging and practical. I work with students across different levels and age groups, and I genuinely enjoy helping kids grow as readers and communicators. My approach is structured but relaxed. Kids learn best when they feel comfortable, and I build that into every session.

My Harry Potter Reading Camp is a 6-week online program for kids ages 10 to 12 who want to build real reading skills while actually having fun. We meet three times a week on Zoom in a small group of no more than 6 students, working through Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone together.
Each session combines read-alouds, comprehension discussion, and vocabulary work tied directly to the story. Kids aren't just answering worksheet questions. They're talking about the book, making predictions, and building the habit of reading actively.
What sets this apart is the combination of a real novel, a small group where every kid gets attention, and a structured 6-week arc with a clear beginning and end. Parents know exactly what their child is working on and why.
This camp is ideal for kids who are learning English as a second language or who need a confidence boost with reading in English. No prior Harry Potter experience needed.

The Harry Potter Reading Camp is offered as a 6-week group package for $250 per student. We meet three times per week on Zoom in a small group of no more than 6 kids. One-on-one sessions are also available at $25/hr.
