About Kalen
I grew up watching documentaries, reading novels, and obsessively drawing. I was bored with school throughout life, and would usually help the other kids in my classes. I have taken some college, but I am currently saving up to go back. I occasionally tutor my sister in high school math, and I know this would be a valuable learning experience for me.

I ask the student what their hobbies are, and start by just being relaxed. I reinforce the idea that learning is a positive thing, and try to build a friendship first. I will then ask what assignments they need to do, when their tests are, and organize their materials and workplace. Once we are relaxed and confident, we read the questions carefully, list off what we are given, and decide what we need to determine. Feeling safe, and organized, is a huge part of learning. I have had hundreds of hours of tutoring, and I hope that I can recreate the learning styles that have helped me the most.
