About Panishthi

I'm a clinical psychologist with a master's degree from Newcastle University.
I have taught students who are in their bachelor's or A levels.
Psychology and English are my strong Suit.
As I enjoy these subjects I like to find ways to make it a stimulating and interactive session.
That's what made my teaching experience with my previous students a complete success because more than rote learning, I believe in aiming for an erudite understanding of the subject.
Apart from these two subjects, I can also assist with history; my knowledge base is vast as I consider, in my humble opinion, typically well read and resourceful

About the lesson

The key to find the most effective teaching style is based in the nature of the subject.
For psychogy I would use a more directional-discussion approach, wherein I do give specifics instructions and deadlines and employ tools like assignments and homework but at the same time include the students in the discussion. Allow them to question and discuss their doubts in class and together come up with an unanimous conclusion. Role play and debating are found to be efficient in a better grasp of the subject. A student also learns to back up their opinions with fact and research which will prepare them for future endeavors.
For English or history, I use more of a delegating-discussing method wherein we do have collective discussions of various opinions but at the same time individual/group assignments are given out to help the student develop the skill of self-learning and feel confident in voicing their well-founded opinions.
As a member of the British psychological society, I'm privy to information like debates, conferences and research that are forefront in any progressing field and would share the same with my students.
Would also employ traditional tutoring methods like solving past papers and giving out tests and also employ audiovisual aids like videos and podcasts.
I like to either have a one on one session,if preferred by the tutee, or a group of 4-6 students. I wouldn't take more then that (except in case of special circumstances).
Students who are in their A levels/HSC/IB/ISC or Bachelors are mostly in my expertise.
