About Winona
Admitting that singing is as much about mental clarity as it is about physical technique is the first step. I focus on vocal health and care by teaching breathing control and head and chest voice mechanics. Kids and advanced learners alike benefit from consistent rhythm and phrasing work. I provide homework vocal drills assigned after every session to build your stamina.
We will also work on performance confidence and microphone technique to prepare for your next stage appearance. Your voice will be ready for the stage soon.

Often I find that kids, self-taught players wanting structure, and advanced learners struggle with the same basic physical habits. It is funny how a voice finds its true character once we stop overthinking the mechanics of breathing and start listening to the tone.
My degree is a BM Popular Music from the Université de Montréal and I have spent 12 years refining how I explain these nuances. My students range from French learners who want to sing chanson to serious guitar students learning Québécois folk styles. Sometimes I feel that my own journey as a musician mirrors the growth of my students as we discover new registers together. It usually comes down to simple consistency.
