I’m a qualified History teacher, AQA examiner, and former Head of History with five years of teaching experience at Westminster Academy, where I led the department for two years. I taught both AQA GCSE History and IB History, helping deliver the strongest IB results in the school’s history and achieving excellent outcomes across four Year 11 GCSE classes. I’m passionate about helping students succeed and believe history should feel vivid, human and engaging — when students enjoy the subject, their confidence and grades grow quickly.

A real strength of mine is building rapport with students from all backgrounds. I’ve taught in inner-city London classrooms as well as worked with high-achieving international IB students, and I pride myself on quickly understanding what motivates each learner. Getting students hooked on the subject and helping them genuinely enjoy history is central to my approach — strong relationships lead to strong results.

As an examiner, I know exactly what the mark schemes reward and can teach the precise techniques that turn solid answers into top grades. I have consistently supported students to achieve Grade 9 at GCSE and Grade 7 in IB, while ensuring every student can secure at least a strong pass (Grade 4 GCSE / Grade 5 IB) with the right structure and support.

Every lesson is fully tailored to the individual. I prepare structured slide-based lessons and use a variety of teaching methods once I understand what works best for the student. I also provide targeted homework resources and revision materials designed to help them reach their goal grade. Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve led training sessions for teachers on excellent practice and deliver an annual lecture at UCL, so my approach is grounded in both practical experience and the latest educational thinking.

Parents can expect professional communication, structured lessons and a tutor who genuinely cares about their child’s progress. My aim is simple: outstanding results delivered through engaging teaching and expert insight — while helping students enjoy history along the way.

Students are guided through complex historical concepts while developing the analytical and written skills required for top grades. Every lesson is purposeful, with clear outcomes, high expectations, and ongoing feedback to ensure continuous progress.
