About Ian

Hi there! I’m Ian, a passionate and experienced Primary School Teacher and Maths Lead with over a decade of helping children build confidence and truly love mathematics. Whether I’m teaching Year 1s their first number bonds or running Year 6 SATs booster sessions, I thrive on making maths approachable, exciting, and fun for every child. As a Primary Maths Mastery Specialist, I’ve been privileged to work with schools across the UK, delivering professional development workshops for teachers and even teaching a live maths lesson in a Shanghai classroom during an exchange with China. I regularly train and support staff, lead lesson observations, and help schools transform how they teach maths! Here’s the best part: I’ve seen the magic that happens when children finally get maths. That “lightbulb moment” is what I live for, and I’ve spent my career helping teachers and families create environments where those moments happen all the time.
