About Naomi

I am a MACTE-accredited Montessori teacher at a school in Toronto. I love to help children become successful! I have always loved working with children. I grew up in a lively family of 12, and was always taking care of my younger siblings and cousins. After high school, I started working at a Montessori. I felt a strong connection to the methodology, especially the respect for children and the idea of “following the child.” I started my training with various assistant and PD courses, and I could tell right away it was for me. I then took my official training at the Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute for children ages 2.5-6 years old. It is a globally recognized MACTE-accredited specialized diploma. I have been the lead teacher in my classroom ever since. I will be leaving my position to travel, but want to continue teaching and helping children.

About the lesson

Hello! I would love to help your child prepare for SK or Grade 1, or assist in reinforcing lessons that were introduced at school. My specialty is language development and acquisition, using a blend of Montessori and Orton-Gillingham theory. I use a systematic phonics approach with a strong focus on phonological awareness to help your child become a successful reader, writer, and speller. I also teach Math, Practical Life skills, Geography, Cultural Awareness, Science, and Biology. I am a MACTE-accredited Montessori Teacher for children ages 3-6 years old. I have been working as a teacher or TA for the last 5 years. In addition, I have also tutored privately for a number of families in teaching English, Math, Reading, and Writing.
