About Natalie
Sciences have always been my "go-to", and once I reached the college level, I found myself always gravitating to helping others understand coursework that proved challenging. And I especially loved chemistry! So, becoming a teacher/tutor/trainer/mentor was just a natural progression for me, and I realized that I live for that "lightbulb" moment; I love to help students reach that point when these seemingly complex concepts are mastered.
As a licensed, experienced public high school educator, I have taken extensive secondary educational courses with emphasis on curriculum development and assessment strategies. I have built content that supports student mastery of the NGSS high school chemistry standards. As a data and results driven educator, I am also assessing my effectiveness as an educator with student learning goals and making adjustments to my teaching strategies accordingly in order to maximize the success of all students, despite their natural gravitation towards different learning styles.

As a high school chemistry teacher, I understand the importance of presenting students with engaging learning opportunities that allow students to be active participants in the learning process rather than passive spectators.
A typical lesson begins with activating prior knowledge required for the lesson and incorporating relevant, real-world applications that are relatable to the learner. As we move through a lesson, I provide many checks for understanding to assess the students' mastery before moving forward and revisit any areas of misunderstanding.
I look forward to helping chemistry students at the high school level, and college students with introductory chemistry, general chemistry, and quantitative analysis.
