I am a visual learner and wherever possible I use diagrams or drawings to help students learn concepts. I like students to learn the procedures/algorithms to get the answer, but my focus is to help them understand the concept first. Analogies, stories, diagrams, games, and connections are a big part of my lessons. I am available to teach mathematics classes at both the elementary and secondary level. I can also help pre-service teachers with their math courses and methodology courses.
I am a high school math teacher, vice principal, and university professor with a M.Sc. in Secondary Math Education. I have spent over 20 years working with students of all ages helping them understand concepts and becoming more confident in mathematics.
