About John
I assure any students concerned about my credibility to tutor algebra or introductory physics. I am currently enrolled in AP Physics 1, along with taking the AP Physics C exam, and I am currently enrolled for AP Calculus BC in May. I have a strong grasp of algebra 1-2 (for standard American high school), as I had a 4.0 unweighted GPA in my class, and a 3.9 unweighted overall.
If there come up any concerns about schedule conflict, or my method of teaching, please provide me feedback so I can best accommodate to your needs. I believe the best way to teach is to make it the most optimal learning environment for the student as possible, so please communicate if there are problems ASAP.

Hi! My name is John Chien. Here are some reasons you should take lessons with me:
-I make sure to not miss a detail when I am explaining a concept
-I go extremely in depth
-I truly love the topic
-I hope to share my love for the subject with you through tutoring!
For math:
Generally, I believe teaching the student how to think critically and discover the true beauty of math is way more important than simply teaching the student to be a machine doing rote memorization problems. Yes, rote memorization is what makes up 80% of middle school and high school assessments, but to truly understand mathematics is to attempt hard and tricky problems. Therefore, I will incorporate both rote memorization and critical thinking in my lessons.
For Physics:
Physics is the most fundamental science there is. Going past the equations and math, it is the process in which we describe the universe. The best way to understand physics is through experimentation and observation like any other science. I teach mechanics using algebra, and I believe any student who has a skill set of algebra 1 and geometry can do well in an introductory physics course.
