About Thulani
I’m a big reader myself. I love getting lost in books, articles, news, and even memes — because reading is how we steal ideas from other people and make them our own.
*Why I’m interested in teaching you reading:*
1. *Reading is your superpower* - Everything else in English gets easier when you can read well. Vocabulary, grammar, writing, speaking... it all starts with reading.
2. *It opens up the world* - With reading you can learn about science in Japan, history in Egypt, or jobs in London without leaving Rustenburg. I want to help you access all of that.
3. *I love helping people “get it”* - That moment when a difficult paragraph finally makes sense, or when you finish a book and feel proud. I want to give you the strategies to have that feeling more often.
4. *Reading isn’t just for school* - It’s for WhatsApp messages, job applications, contracts, recipes, and stories that make you feel something. I want you to read because you _want_ to, not just because you have to.
*My goal for us:*
We’ll work on 3 things together:
- *Understanding* - how to figure out meaning even when you don’t know every word
- *Speed + confidence* - so reading doesn’t feel like a chore
- *Enjoyment* - finding books, articles, and topics that you actually like
We’ll read different things: short stories, news, poems, and stuff you choose too. No pressure, no judgment. Just progress.
