About Mike
I have had the privilege of teaching young adults ages 12 to 21 as a member of the United States Air Force's Air University. I have also taught 6th grade classes. I have taught in all manner of classrooms, on the ground, in the air, afloat and virtually.
I was a navigator in the U.S. Air Force and have literally observed geography unfold beneath me as I traveled the world using charts, radar and celestial navigation. These kinds of experiences along with those on the ground in far away lands; the people I've met, the cultures I have witnesses, the locations I have visited ad enrichment to my lessons of politics, geography and history.
I have been teaching, instructing and training for nearly 40 years.

I am a certified social studies teacher in the State of Illinois, USA. I also have a master's degree in teaching and a bachelor's degree in political science and history. My hobbies include historical subjects and I am a reenactor of 18th century living history. I have also reenacted the American Civil War and the First World War. I not only know history, I have lived it.
I am a retired officer of the United States uniformed services having served globally in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. I have literally witnessed history as it was made.
History is not a series of isolated instances but instead an infinite continuum with ever growing branches. No one event can be fully understood without knowledge of the events, people, and geographic conditions that led to that event.
