About Madeline
I am a 2025 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) graduate from Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) in Melbourne, Australia. In the IBDP final examinations, my results ranked within the top 10% globally and top 3% in Australia. I received offers to study Law and Business from University of Melbourne, UNSW Sydney, Monash University as well as universities from Hong Kong and Singapore.
I am currently studying Bachelor of International Commerce at UNSW Sydney, where I was also awarded a university scholarship. In IBDP English Literature A (SL), I achieved a Grade 7, placing within the top 7% worldwide. I also placed within the top 5% globally in IBDP History HL (Europe) and top 12% in IBDP Math AASL, having consistently been within the top 3% within my cohort in all subjects. My Extended Essay in History achieved an excellent result, placing within the top 12% worldwide even when ranked against all Extended Essays in all subjects. My Mandarin Chinese HL final exam result achieved a high 7 (93%), which was especially rewarding as a second language student, proving as a testament of my hard work.
Throughout my studies, I have consistently performed at a high academic level. I ranked first in my class multiple times in both Years 10-12 English and English Literature, and achieved a perfect score and first place in my year level in History. I represented my school for two consecutive years in the National History Challenge, winning state finalist in 2024.
Having gone through the IBDP recently myself, I understand the common challenges students face. I aim to support students by providing clear, structured explanations and guidance, helping them build both skills and confidence in their studies.

My personal approach to tutoring is to create a supportive, structured, and student-focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
I believe every student learns differently, so I first take time to understand the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. From there, I tailor lessons to their needs, breaking down complex concepts into clear and manageable steps so they can fully understand the material rather than simply memorizing it.
For subjects like English and humanities, I focus on helping students develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills. This includes guiding them on how to structure essays, analyze texts effectively, and express their ideas clearly. I also provide practical strategies for exams and assignments, such as planning responses, organizing arguments, and improving writing clarity.
Most importantly, I aim to build students’ confidence and independence. My goal is not only to help them improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident learners who can approach challenges with the right strategies and mindset.
