About Harsha Vardhan
My name is Harsha, and teaching has been part of my life for a long time. While studying Chemistry at IIT Bombay, I volunteered teaching Math to underprivileged children who had no other support. That is where I learned what good teaching actually looks like: patience, and the ability to meet a student exactly where they are.
I came to Math the same way I now teach it. I trained in mental arithmetic through abacus from a young age and played competitive chess at district level, so numbers and structured thinking have always felt like home. What I enjoy most is the moment a concept finally clicks for a student who was convinced they "weren't a math person." They almost always are.
I teach because I genuinely believe every student can do well in Math with the right explanation and a bit of confidence. My job is to give them both. I take that seriously, I prepare properly for every session, and I treat each student's progress as if it were my own.

I teach Year 8 and 9 Math to the NSW syllabus, working straight from the Cambridge textbooks your child already uses in class. Sessions are online, one to one, on a live iPad whiteboard where we solve problems together in real time, so I can see exactly where the thinking breaks down and fix it on the spot.
My background is a Bachelor of Chemistry from IIT Bombay, one of the most competitive universities in the world. Getting in meant ranking in the top 0.5% of 1.4 million students in India's national engineering exam, so I know how to break hard concepts down and make them simple for someone meeting them for the first time.
Every new family starts with a free 30 minute diagnostic session. I find the gaps, learn how your child thinks, and send a written report afterwards showing exactly where they stand and what we would work on. Lessons run for 60 minutes and are built around your child's pace, not a fixed script.
Best suited to Year 8 and 9 students who want to build real confidence in Math, whether they're catching up or pushing ahead.
