About Mara
With over 9 years of experience and a Graduate Certificate in Vocal Coaching, I specialize in guiding singers toward healthy, sustainable voice use. My work centers on vocal health and rehabilitation, helping clients recover from fatigue, strain, or injury through careful technique and consistent support. I create a safe space for rebuilding vocal strength using gentle warm-ups, vocal hygiene habits, and personalized exercises. Whether you're a professional singer, public speaker, or someone returning to voice after a break, I offer tools to protect and renew your sound. My teaching is grounded in breath management, resonance balancing, and efficient technique. I emphasize posture, body awareness, and tension release to reduce vocal stress. From sacred music and classical repertoire to a cappella and barbershop harmony, I adapt lessons to your stylistic goals while keeping your vocal health at the forefront. Many of my students have successfully overcome vocal issues and returned to confident performance. My teaching approach is rooted in strong, healthy vocal technique. I focus on breath control, diaphragmatic support, and posture to build a solid foundation for every singer. Lessons include targeted exercises that help improve stamina and develop consistency across your range. We’ll work on expanding your breath capacity and using your air efficiently.
I help students understand how the body supports the voice, creating habits that prevent tension and strain. Whether you're singing solos or in an ensemble, stability and control are key. I guide students to recognize and correct habits that may limit their vocal freedom. Vocal health is always a priority in my sessions.
I’m especially skilled at supporting Suzuki students and orchestra members who want to improve their singing with strength and clarity. I offer customized exercises to match your musical setting and vocal goals. With patience and steady guidance, I help you grow in confidence and skill. You'll sing longer, stronger, and with greater ease. My goal is to support your voice for the long term—one breath at a time.
