I am currently in the Air Force and work Command & Control Operations. It’s a pretty cool gig where I am able to navigate operations and feel a great sense of reward protecting our freedom and nation. But how did it get here? Well, that’s a long story. I graduated from San Francisco State University 2013. I initially thought I wanted to go into clinical psychology so I began a Marriage and Family Therapy Masters program with the University of San Francisco. After a year in,I decided I/O psychology was the way for me. I liked the organizational aspect of psychology. I was especially interested in Diversity and Inclusion/Equity in the work place. Once I finished my masters I went on to serve as a member for California’s Government Alliance for Race and Equity. While there, I worked on implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives for the 29 state agencies in CA. The goal was to quantify the level of racism that can be found amongst civil servants of our own local government. Once assessed, sensitivity training was employed and an entire revamp of outdated mandates, regulations and laws were addressed. these outdated laws and regulations inadvertently discriminated against certain populations. The goal is to have Equity for All so a systematic approach must be taken. It’s important to note that it took several generations to built this great nation through racism divide and it will take generations to right our wrongdoings and to fix the repercussions of what has been done.

So why am I here? I miss the days of psychological inquiry and getting lost in the academic sauce I feel like it’s time to give back to the next generation of psychologically centered peeps that are going to do great things. if I can impact our future generation, it’ll be something I will be proud to say I’ve done. So bring on the questions!
