About Kim

Experienced in: Intensive Care Respiratory Medicine Nursing education My philosophy: I love teaching nurses. We are such an incredibly resilient, strong group of people, full of compassion and love for what we do and who we care for. I love watching students grow into established clinicians, comfortable in their job and providing safe, effective care to their patients. I love seeing students have the lightbulb moment, celebrating their wins and helping them grow. I love helping students succeed in the studies and see the relevance of what they're learning. I love empowering students to be the best nurses they can be! The partnership between educator and student is wonderful. I always ensure you have a safe, non-judgmental space to ask any questions at all, or even just vent about an experience on placement. If I'm your tutor, I am here for you whenever you need. Only other nurses know what it's like to do the Bachelor. Only other critical care nurses know what it's like to do a crit-care postgrad. I'm here to help you because I've done them both before. Use my experience.

About the lesson

I am currently doing a Masters of Health Professions' Education, so you can be assured my teaching uses evidence-based principles. My HD average means I can help you understand how to get the best grades possible from the university, including study techniques and how to remember those pesky details.

My teaching experience includes two years teaching ICU postgraduate and transition-to-specialty-practice nurses, and I'm currently a medical educator teaching medical students. I have the knowledge you need, and I can explain it so you understand it!

How I teach:
I want to personalise our time so you get the most out of every session. Whether it's anatomy and physiology, medication knowledge (like how to remember so many drugs!), clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills (such hard skills to learn!), interpersonal skills (communicating with patients and colleagues), dealing with emergencies (when to push the 'call for help' button), or even how to cope with the stuff we see and deal with, I can help you.
