As a tutor, my approach is focused on making YOU confident in yourself to go out and speak! I focus on making you actually speak a TON in my classes, where I give feedback, and we constantly take that and make it better for next time! Teaching Method and Techniques: Speech Writing & Structure: I teach how to craft a compelling message, organize thoughts logically, and use persuasive techniques. Voice and Delivery We work on vocal variety, pacing, volume, and body language to ensure the message is delivered clearly and engagingly. Impromptu Speaking: My Favorite!! I help students develop the ability to think on their feet with impromptu speech exercises that simulate real-world scenarios. Feedback and Reflection: After every speech or presentation, I provide detailed feedback, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Making mistakes is perfectly ok, but we try to not repeat the same mistakes over and over! Typical Lesson Plan: 1. Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): Quick ice-breaker exercises and check in with the student. 2. Lesson Focus (20-25 minutes): A deep dive into a specific area, whether it’s crafting a persuasive argument, improving vocal projection, or rehearsing a speech that's coming up. 3. Practice (15-20 minutes): Now it's your turn! The student delivers a speech or takes part in an impromptu speaking activity, with real-time feedback. 4. Review and Goal Setting (5-10 minutes): We end with a discussion of what went well and areas for improvement, followed by goal-setting for the next session. What Sets Me Apart: - Real-World Experience: I bring over 8 years of public speaking experience, including multiple international awards at DECA, speeches in front of hundreds, and experience with coaching students which allows me to give practical no BS insights. - Personalized Coaching: I tailor each lesson to the student’s unique needs, focusing on their specific goals—whether it's preparing for a competition, improving academic presentations, or boosting general speaking skills. - Confidence-Building: People fear public speaking more than death. My approach emphasizes not just technique but also self-assurance. I work closely with students to overcome any fears or anxiety about speaking in front of others. Who is this for? These lessons are perfect for: - High School & College Students: Whether you’re preparing for DECA/FBLA/HOSA competitions, classroom presentations, or extracurricular events, I can help you elevate your performance. - Young Professionals: If you're looking to improve your public speaking for career advancement or job interviews, I tailor lessons to your needs. - Anyone Looking to Improve Communication: From casual public speaking to more formal events, I can help anyone who wants to communicate more effectively and confidently.
