About Kata & Kike

Hi! We’re Kike & Kata, a Colombian couple deeply passionate about salsa and sharing the joy of dancing together. We teach Salsa On1 and Salsa Caleña for beginner and intermediate couples — both in-person in Cali, Colombia, and online for the rest of the world. Whether you're dancing together for the first time or want to level up your moves, we’re here to guide you with rhythm, heart, and lots of fun. We live salsa every day — not just in class, but in socials, performances, and competitions. Dancing together has strengthened our bond, and now we love helping other couples connect, grow, and enjoy the magic of dancing as one. Kike is crazy about music — instruments, singing, rhythm — it’s in his blood! He’s charismatic, always smiling, and his methodical way of teaching will help you feel comfortable and master every step. Kata has been dancing since before she could walk. Besides salsa, she has explored rhythms like samba, forró, kizomba, zouk, and bachata during her time in Brazil — even dancing in the Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro. Her energy is contagious, and her warm, patient teaching style will make you feel fully supported as you learn. We’re both committed, friendly, and passionate about teaching. We speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Our method works because we adapt to your rhythm, your comfort, and your goals as a couple. We’re here to make you feel confident, have fun, and create unforgettable moments together through salsa. Let’s dance, connect, and grow — one step at a time!

About the lesson

Straight from the Salsa Capital of the World, we bring you a fun, clear, and effective method that will have you dancing in no time — and loving every step together as a couple. Our classes are available in English, Spanish, or even Portuguese. Each class begins with a warm-up and preventive stretching to prepare the body. We then move into step-by-step instruction based on the couple’s level and goals. We teach specific movements for leaders and followers, focusing on proper technique, body control, and connection. Students first practice steps individually, and then together as a couple. We gradually build a short routine or mini choreography that incorporates the steps learned, along with turns, lead-follow technique, and step combinations. We close each session with stretching and personalized feedback to track progress and strengthen the learning process. We can also help you with your salsa Wedding Dance Choreography; please ask for Packages, 1 or 2 last minute sessions are fine as well, unit rate is $150 per each, otherwise $95 for 5 sessions. Our goal is to make you feel confident, connected, and fully enjoy dancing together! Our classes are all about giving you a fun, relaxed space to enjoy dancing together, connect more deeply, and strengthen your bond as a couple. We adapt to your pace to make learning fun and effective!
