About Maxine
My name is Maxine, and I am going into my fourth year at the University of Victoria studying Chemistry. I love chemistry, but I understand that it is not for everyone which I understand. However, my goal is to make the subject less intimidating and even possibly enjoyable.

I believe that especially for math and chemistry the best way to learn is through examples and practice. That is why I love working through a range of problems together first. That way the student has an understanding of how to approach problems and work through them. I then like to have students try some problems on their own where I don't interrupt and have them explain their thinking out loud. If they get the concepts, logic, and answer right then we move on. If not them we work through the problem again together.
