About Kate

Having worked as a theatre practitioner, conversation coach and drama teacher for 25 years in various locations worldwide. I have had a wide range of experiences from designing and delivering effective communication seminars for corporate clients, preparing students for LAMDA examinations, coaching GCSE and A Level Drama students to teaching English Language through Drama to non-native English speakers.

I have an up-to-date DBS Certificate.

I trained at Questors Theatre, Roehampton Institute, Bangor University and with Professor Allan Owens at Chester University.

I belong to various business networking organisations and am a member of the Actor's Union - Equity.

I teach a wide range of students including ESL students of all ages from Russia. The main focus is on listenings skill - looking to improve their spoken English and to build confidence. I also tutor students at KS3 English – having worked with one student for over a year she has moved up two classes at school. I design and deliver drama-based training seminars to corporate clients.

About the lesson

Hello - good to meet you. I very much enjoy tutoring because it enables me to work in fun and creative ways with individual students. Approachable and friendly, I work with all ages and abilities!

I teach acting, English language conversation, audition technique, vocal coaching and effective communication skills, LAMDA, GCSE Drama and English, KS3 English. I work with students of all ages and levels.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Practices in Education, a BA Hons degree from Roehampton Institute, a PGCE in Secondary Drama from Chester University, an Elevate Cymru Professional Practice Certificate from Bangor University and an Acting Diploma from Questors Theatre, London.

I charge £30 per hour. There is a reduced rate for pre-paid blocks of 5 lessons.

I teach F2F and via Skype – an increasingly popular and successful medium for teaching, learning, and coaching.

Very flexible to the needs of my students – I'm available evenings, weekends, during weekdays and vacations.

I teach all ages and at all levels.

I prepare my students for Drama School Auditions, LAMDA/RADA exams, GCSE and A-Level Drama as well as coaching professionals for auditions and performances. I also prepare students for IELTS speaking and listening examinations.

Skype is my preferred medium for online tutoring. It has proved to be very effective and students enjoy using it.
