About Hector
I have more than seven years of working with students in critical subject areas such as mathematics, science, and reading comprehension. I work patiently and closely with my students to nurture their intellectual gifts and to help their educational experience to be fun, engaging, and rewarding. I educate my students on effective strategies, to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and to reinforce their understanding of the concepts presented in the classroom. My teaching methods include active studying and helping my students to learn simple strategies and techniques to ensure that they will develop a better understanding of the critical concepts presented. I am a firm believer in practice and repetition, therefore, I will always provide supplemental notes and practice problems for my students to improve their understanding and to encourage them to engage with the concepts outside of the classroom. We focus extensively on learning the critical concepts and applying the strategies that I teach while actively working through practice problems. Additionally, I like to closely simulate the testing conditions that they will face and to educate them on test-taking and time management strategies as well.
