About Azu

Hello, Japan lovers!

I'm a Japanese who graduated from an international university in Japan and has experience working for a Japanese company. I currently live in Australia.

I've completed and passed a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training program. I can teach everything from the most basic Japanese for beginners to more complex Japanese related to Japanese culture. Furthermore, for those planning a trip to Japan, I can answer any questions you have about Japanese, including how to write hiragana and katakana, grammar, and more.

I also have a WWC (Working with Children Check) number, so I'm happy to teach a wide range of ages!

About the lesson

I understood how hard to learn different language. When I studied English, I was really struggled to speak English with correct pronunciations.

In the first lesson, I will listen to what you want to learn and your goal. After that, I will guide you the most efficient way to learn.

I believe one of good ways to memorize language is speaking so we will pronounce over and over again (if required), and after that we will start to learn reading and writing hiragana and katakana. For more advanced learners, we learn verb conjugation and English to Japanese translation.

You will repeatedly practice the pronunciation of everyday conversations and phrases that are useful when traveling.

If you are interested, I can also teach you the business Japanese I have used in my sales work in Japan.

The most important thing is to get fun from our lessons so I will try my best to make you feel comfortable and confident to speak.

Perfect! As a shy person, Azu sensei helped me relaxed and feel calm in our lesson. She gave a detail explanation on how to say and do things. Learning new language is hard but Azu sensei makes it fun and easy to understand.

Perfect! Azu san asked to provide honest feedback since she wants to learn more and see where she can improve, so here are my thoughts about my first lesson with Azu san, straight up:

I woke up this morning feeling energetic and nervous at the same time. The lesson started and I was greeted by Azu san with a smile and a calm voice with a cool, easy English accent to understand which immediately helped me feel more relaxed. So I definitely recommend her, especially for people who tend to get really nervous. You will be able to feel relaxed. I also really liked the setting. It was modern and aesthetically pleasing which improved the quality of the learning environment.

We started with general conversation. I had the opportunity to learn more about her and share more about myself, my current learning goals, text books, occupations etc...

For practice she presented a white board that was prepared with an introduction to the three different Japanese writing systems which I thought was a good way to start the lesson. For one, it showed that took my request into consideration which shows she listens to her students requirements and secondly, she came prepared for the lesson which proves that she is organized and dedicated. For that I am grateful. Thank you Azu san.

After that we moved to saying amounts in Japanese. She made it easy to understand and pronounce.

Overall Azu san made a good first impression of herself. Personally from a student point of view I think it takes more than just one time to get comfortable with someone or to truly see their potential but she managed to do this in less than an hour.

I look forward to working with her. Over time I'll be able to provide more honest feedback.

We just finished our first lesson. Cole san is very enthusiastic and hardworking. He has clear goals for learning Japanese and is highly motivated. He is interested in not only the Japanese language but also Japanese culture. I am happy to be able to share Japanese culture and customs with him.
