About Julia Gabrielle

With a passion for language and culture, I’ve dedicated myself to helping students learn Spanish through personalized tutoring. My journey began during my time as a full-time missionary in Peru and Chile, where I immersed myself in the language and culture, igniting my love for teaching.

With four years of experience, I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. I tailor each lesson to meet my students' unique goals, whether they’re beginners or looking to enhance their existing skills. I believe that learning a language should be enjoyable and practical, so I incorporate real-life conversations, cultural insights, and engaging activities into my lessons.

My mission is to empower students to speak Spanish confidently and appreciate the rich culture of Spanish-speaking countries. I look forward to guiding you on your language learning journey!

As a tutor, my primary goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to learn. My teaching method is centered around personalized instruction, ensuring that each student receives the attention and resources they need to succeed. Here’s a closer look at my approach:

-Teaching Method and Techniques
I employ a communicative approach to language learning, which emphasizes real-life conversations and practical usage of the language. This method includes:

Interactive Activities: Incorporating games, role-plays, and dialogues to make lessons lively and engaging.

Cultural Context: Introducing cultural elements related to Spanish-speaking countries to enhance language comprehension and interest.

Feedback and Encouragement: Providing constructive feedback and celebrating achievements to build confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.

-Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-up Activity: A quick review of previous material or a fun icebreaker to set a positive tone.

Vocabulary Focus: Introducing new words and phrases related to a specific topic, with plenty of examples and practice.

Grammar Explanation: A simple breakdown of relevant grammar rules, using practical examples to illustrate their application.

Conversational Practice: Engaging in dialogues or role-plays to practice new vocabulary and grammar in a real-world context.

Cultural Insight: Sharing interesting facts or customs related to the lesson’s theme to deepen understanding and appreciation of the language.

Wrap-up and Homework: Summarizing key points, setting goals for the next lesson, and assigning practice exercises to reinforce learning.

-What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What sets me apart as a tutor is my commitment to creating a personalized learning experience. I tailor each lesson to align with the student’s goals, whether they’re learning for travel, work, or personal enrichment. My background as a former missionary also gives me a unique perspective on language acquisition, allowing me to understand the challenges and motivations of language learners better. Additionally, I focus on building a strong rapport with my students, making the learning process enjoyable and collaborative.

-Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners, including:

Beginners: Individuals with no prior knowledge of Spanish or Tagalog who want to start learning from the ground up.

Intermediate Learners: Those looking to improve their conversational skills, expand vocabulary, and gain confidence in speaking.

Tagalog Speakers: Native Tagalog speakers wanting to learn Spanish, with lessons tailored to bridge the language gap.

Spanish Speakers: Native Spanish speakers interested in learning Tagalog, focusing on the unique aspects of the language.

Overall, my approach combines effective teaching methods with personalized instruction to help each student achieve their language learning goals while enjoying the process.
