About Jason
G'day guys! My name's Jason and I'm currently working as a Software Engineering Team Lead. I have 2 passions in life; Programming and Teaching. I'm fulfilling the former, but haven't been able to satisfy my desire to teach recently, so here I am! I have about 5 years of teaching experience; 2 years teaching computer programming (ASP.NET, Java and HTML/CSS/JS/PHP) at UWS, 2 years teaching English as a Foreign Language to students in Japan (from 2014-2016) and about a year teaching various forms of computer programming here on SuperProf. I stopped teaching full time a few years ago back in 2016 to focus on my career as a software engineer, but I'd like to get back into it on the side. Programming can be a very enjoyable activity; it engages you and makes you think in a way that no other discipline does, and it feels great to tackle tough problems and see your creations come to life out of thin air. But I'd argue that the only thing more enjoyable than writing a program is teaching others to program, and sharing your love of the craft.

Fundamentally, I want my students to relax and have fun. I'm a very approachable and down-to-earth instructor. We will unquestionably cover some tricky content, but if I can throw in a nerdy joke or two and perhaps a Star Wars reference, I suspect that you're more likely to remember what we cover as opposed to me putting you to sleep with a lecture.

Perfect! Jason is deeply knowledgable about programming languages. I'm currently in a coding bootcamp and i turned to him to help out with an assignment i was working on that i needed help with. During our session he made sure slow down to ensure i was really understanding concepts, but remained steadfast in what we were working on. He's patient and I never felt like he was giving the answer so much as he was guiding me to find the answer myself. I plan on working with Jason more consistently.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I work with Jason as a quality engineer and being a QE, I always have lot of questions on why/how/when and Jason is someone who does not hesitate even if I ask him a million questions. He is always ready to help, be it any dev related question or any programming related help. He will go above and beyond to make sure your doubts are cleared and that you know what you are doing. I would like to point out that his programming knowledge is exceptional. No matter how difficult the problem he is always comes up with the quickest yet most optimal and the best solutions.
I met Jason through LinkedIn and asked if he would be willing to do an online industry talk to our Coder Academy students. He provided them with 10 tips they could use to thrive in the software industry, which was super valuable.
Jason has a lot of knowledge to share and it is great to be able to learn from an industry expert.
Besides that, Jason has shown to be caring and wanting to give back to the community, which are both great qualities to have as a teacher.Jason has an awesome way of engaging students to make learning fun. He was my web programming tutor at University and I can honestly say I looked forward to class. Jason is a very experienced programmer and has a wealth on knowledge to draw from. Couldn’t recommend any more highly.
Jason was a senior developer under my team. Part of his duties was to mentor junior developers and he really excels at that! He is very knowledgeable about C#/.Net. If you want to learn more about AWS/DynamoDb/Redis, he's the man for it too! I fully recommend him, you'll definitely learn a lot from Jason.
