About Helena
Former student of Literature (with focus on translation and English) and work for 6 years as freelancer in Illustration, directly in the international market. When working with young people, it is essential to know not only the grammar but also the contexts, slang, acronyms, and common themes among these people. I'm going to use what the internet has the best (and worst) in our favor. Games, series, anime, cartoons, music, films, books and comics will be present in our classes and soon you will be looking for the freshest memes in 4chan and Reddit with confidence and understanding their contexts. Plus, you'll never suffer with poorly synced subtitles, because you will not need them anymore!
I value your skills much more on a daily basis than your test scores, so let's focus on your learning and reasoning in language rather than filling gaps and relating one framework to another. I want you to participate in your education and learning, so I am always open to suggestions of topics, methods and, hey, if you are sick or on that day that you do not want to leave your house, we can take classes by Discord (because Skype is old stuff) . If you are an artistic person, we can even learn English and drawing AT THE SAME TIME! How fancy, aye?
