About Ravi

I have been playing chess for about 14 years, and have achieved a rating on chess.com of 2000 ELO and above, which is considered a chess.com master. Furthermore, I have participated, and won several chess competitions including the Denver Open, Colorado Blitz Chess Championship, and the Aurora Chess Championship (which are all U.S chess competitions). I have placed in the top 10 of other competitions including a place at the Chicago Chess Scholastic Championship, and the Missouri Open. I have run a local chess club in my hometown of Mississauga for a year and been a private chess tutor in Colorado, U.S for 2 years.

Currently studying Medical Physics at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

About the lesson

My lessons cater to players of all ages who would like to be strong at the game of chess. Coming from my 14 years of experience playing chess, I always start from where my student is having trouble and then going from there helping them improve at every aspect of the game. I can review openings, middlegames, and endgames with all my students helping them master whatever is holding them back from achieving the next level. One thing that sets me apart is that I don't teach chess like math, or science, asking my student to memorize hundreds of different chess lines/strategies. I want to make sure that my student can look at a chess position, and find the best move or strategy by just understanding the key principles of chess (which will be explained in my lessons). My chess lessons are meant for anyone looking to master the game, whether you are beginner, intermediate, or even a pretty strong chess player looking to improve their game. I'm here for everybody!
