Hi, I’m Emmy! I’m a very creative and crafty person who loves learning and creating with my hands. I’ve been crocheting for several years and am now branching out into knitting and punch needle projects. I’ve also been a full-time business owner for 6 years, creating handmade soaps, body oils, candles, and other products. I’m also an herbalist and love exploring different creative crafts. Hii!!! So, About Your First Crochet Session,
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting comfortable with the basics and learning what you need to get started:
Yarn basics — different yarn types, weights, and materials
🪝 Hook sizes — understanding hook sizes and choosing the right one
Getting comfortable — how to properly hold your yarn and crochet hook
Starting your project — learning how to make a slip knot and foundation chain
Basic stitches — introduction to beginner-friendly crochet stitches
Helpful tips — common beginner mistakes and how to avoid them
Practice together — plenty of hands-on practice at your own pace
Please note! :
If you’d like to take notes, that’s absolutely encouraged! For our first lesson, I recommend having the following ready so you can follow along hands-on:
One skein of inexpensive yarn — any beginner-friendly brand will work.
🪝 One 5.5mm crochet hook — a great beginner size to start with.
Both can be found on Amazon or at most craft stores.
You don’t need anything fancy or expensive! The goal is to learn the basics, practice together, and have fun! No prior crochet experience is needed! We’ll take it step-by-step and make sure you feel comfortable before moving on.
