Salil is my nephew and while you may think that would impose an automatic bias, it does not. I have watched him grow professionally to the point of becoming a confident proponent of his work and ability.
He has executed many projects for me that required patience, diligence, research and proficiency in writing. He saw all of them to a successful end.
Salil displays a fine esthetic evident from his personal life. He is an excellent mentor judging from the young people in the industry that avail of his talents. He is compassionate and devoted. He would be an asset to any enterprise.
I have worked with Salil on two short films, and both times I had a great experience. His scripts are very detailed, especially considering the kind of mood, treatment, and edit he aims for. He also does not shy away from experimenting with his footage in the edit.
Salil has been a passionate storyteller since the first I knew him, which was in our Mass Media college a couple of decades back. He got so many of us into trying out tricks of film making even then, when film making was organic and precious.
My experience of creatively collaborating with Salil has been experimental, joyful and - since I can’t resist using the word in this forum - highly recommended.Salil is an excellent teacher with a deep understanding of filmmaking and cinematic storytelling. He explains concepts clearly, makes the sessions engaging, and brings practical industry insight into his teaching. Highly recommended for anyone serious about learning filmmaking and direction.
Salil was great at helping me improve my scriptwriting and editing skills. His feedback was thoughtful, specific, and genuinely helped sharpen my storytelling. Patient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Highly recommend for any writers!
Having known and worked with Salil for over two years, I must say that he is an absolutely brilliant mentor and puts his heart into what he writes. Each moment spent learning with him was nothing but fruitful and enjoyable. So if you want to learn screenwriting, the right way… this is your guy!
I worked with Salil for six months as an AD and DA on a project he wrote and directed. Although he never formally taught me, working with him taught me a great deal about screenwriting and filmmaking. I learned that screenwriting is much more than just writing —it is a highly technical and professional craft that requires precision, structure, and a clear understanding of filmmaking. His attention to detail and approach to the craft are exceptional, and I would confidently recommend him to anyone serious about learning screenwriting and filmmaking.
I've known Salil for many years and have watched his journey as a filmmaker and screenwriter with great admiration. He is a graduate of the London Film School and has worked professionally as a writer-director for over 15 years.
What stands out most about Salil is his deep understanding of storytelling – not just the theory, but the practical craft of bringing a script to life on screen. He has a natural ability to break down complex filmmaking concepts and explain them in a way that is clear, patient, and encouraging.
I have seen his work and his dedication to the craft, and I have no doubt that he would be an excellent mentor for anyone looking to learn screenwriting, directing, or visual storytelling. Salil is also an extremely patient & caring teacher & takes great care to get the best out of his students.
I highly recommend Salil as a tutor and mentor.View more recommendations
