About Thomas

I am a native French speaker from France (Tours), now based in Toronto, and I have always loved helping people feel at ease in a language that often seems intimidating from the outside. French is my mother tongue, and I am fully bilingual in English, so I can explain things clearly and meet you exactly where you are.

Outside of teaching, I have spent several years working in a professional environment that demanded precision, patience, and good communication, qualities I bring to every lesson. I know how it feels to learn a language as an adult, having done it myself with English and Spanish, so I am genuinely understanding when it comes to mistakes, plateaus, and the small wins that keep you going.

My goal is simple: that you leave each lesson a little more confident than when you arrived. Whether you are starting from scratch or polishing skills you already have, I will adapt to your pace and make sure the time we spend together feels useful, relaxed, and motivating.

About the lesson

As a native French speaker living in Toronto, I help adults and teenagers go from "I studied it at school" to actually holding a conversation.

French is not an easy language. My approach is practical and conversation first: we work on real situations you care about, whether that is work, travel, or daily life, and I bring in grammar only when it serves what you want to say.

A typical lesson starts with a short warm up in French, then we tackle the day's theme through dialogue, a few targeted exercises, and useful vocabulary you can reuse straight away. You leave with one small thing to practise before next time, never homework that feels like a chore.

What sets me apart is that I adapt fully to your level and pace. Complete beginners, rusty intermediates, or learners preparing for travel, work, or a move to Quebec are all welcome.

Lessons are available online or in person around Toronto, and I keep the atmosphere relaxed so you feel comfortable making mistakes and improving fast.
