About Indraani
You don’t need to be a “natural dancer” to learn Kathak. You need a teacher who knows how to teach you.
I’m a Kathak dancer and educator, and teaching is something I approach as seriously as the art itself. Alongside my dance training, I have worked as a teacher and developed a strong understanding of pedagogy — how different people learn, where they get stuck, and what helps them truly understand and remember.
That shapes the way I teach.
I don’t expect every student to learn in the same way or at the same speed. I observe, adapt and find ways to make the learning work for you. I’m patient with beginners, attentive to detail and believe that questions and mistakes are an important part of becoming a better dancer.
Whether you are learning Kathak for yourself, returning to dance after years, or looking for the right teacher for your child, my aim is to make you feel comfortable, guided and genuinely capable of progressing.
Because I believe a good dance teacher doesn’t just teach you movements. They help you discover that you can do things you once thought you couldn’t.

I teach Kathak online in English, Tamil and Telugu, with a personalized approach that adapts to you — your age, experience, pace, learning style and goals.
My classes are not about simply copying steps. I want you to understand what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to make it your own. We build your foundation step by step through rhythm, footwork, hand movements, expressions, technique and musicality, without rushing through the basics.
As a teacher with a strong foundation in pedagogy, I design classes to make learning clear, structured, encouraging and enjoyable. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to dance after years, learning as an adult, or looking for a meaningful activity for your child, we begin exactly where you are.
You can learn classical Kathak in a structured way, or explore Bollywood-inspired Kathak if you want a more playful and accessible way to enter the form.
My goal is simple: by the end of every class, you should feel that you genuinely learned something — and feel excited to come back and learn the next thing.
No prior experience. No need to know Hindi. Just come with curiosity, and I’ll help you take it from there.
