About Anupam

Anupam Completed M.A. in Tabla from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh. Completed Nipun in Tabla from Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya & Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan. As a performer on stage, he is proficient in compatible & solos playing. Anupam is also the director of Trinetra music band. His performance has been applauded by audiences and music critics as well. During his musical journey, Anupam had the chance to be part of some prestigious music ensembles of the country. He performed with Phill Scarf (classical saxophonist from USA), Tom Thum (Australian Beat Boxer), Deepa Nair (Vocalist) & Rajasthan Roots etc. Achievements: ➢ B grade from All India Radio ➢ Performed with sitar on Doordarshan Kendra Jaipur (2023). ➢ Performed with sitar in Diggi festival (2023) ➢ Solo performance in Yuva shastriya Sangeet samaroh, Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur. ➢ Performed in Swaraayan Music Festival Organized by Ministry of culture and Ram Krishna Foundation at NCZCC Auditorium, Prayagraj. ➢ Performed in Rajbhawan, Jaipur in front of Governor Kalraj Mishra organized by West Zone cultural Centre. ➢ Workshop taken as Accompanist with Pt. About the lesson

For a fresh student I will start with the basics of posture, familiarize with tabla drums, finger position, production of sound etc., After assessing a student’s desire and skill level I will start teaching accordingly. I help students prepare for the Tabla examination of all levels.+(concealed information)

He has made every attempt to answer the theoretical questions and practical applications. Anupam Ji with his wealth of knowledge, is curious to learn and explore new avenues. With his theoretical background and expertise in tabla, it is easy to pick his brains and have doubts cleared as they arise.

Anupam Ji with his patience, friendliness, tolerance for mistakes, adaptability to different teaching methods and inherent professional skills proves himself to be one of the excellent tabla teachers. If there was a fivestar scoring available, I would give Guru Anupam Ji a five star rating.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Among the percussion instruments, 'Tabla' is one of the most important musical instruments in India. Tabla plays an important role in accompanying vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers in every style of music from classical to light in India, mainly used for keeping rhythm.
Actually I developed my interest in this field from childhood.I belong to a musical family so when I used to see playing many instruments in my family then I used to play tabla with them.i love to play rhythm with songs, bhajan etc.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My parents and my Guru always inspire me to get up after every fall. They always motivate me to play tabla better day by day. So, yes, my parents and my Guru motivate me to teach tabla to students and give my knowledge to many students. I am sharing my knowledge with many students so that they can play tabla in a well manner and develop their interest in this subject.
How does your work help society?
The sound of music is the best meditation for one's soul. Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours and people can feel positive vibes for music. So, it helps the society in many ways.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model for my work is Ustad Jakir Hussain. I love to listen tabla from him.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
My hobbies other than teaching are to play football (I love it) and also I'm into singing sometimes.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I used to give classes to every age level of group and developed interest in tabla accordingly their mindset and their interest. I love to teach my subject and performed many in many concert and different stages.
I have a student from USA and he is very dedicated about his work in the age of 77 year old and he is also giving music exam of tabla. I am very happy to share with you about his dedication and love for music in the age of 77 year.
