About Karan
Hi, I’m Karan, a guitarist and instructor based in Mumbai. I’ve been playing guitar for many years and enjoy helping students develop both technical skills and musical expression on the instrument.
My playing is strongly influenced by rock, blues, funk and metal guitarists such as John Mayer, Slash, Cory Wong, and Guthrie Govan, and these styles often shape the way I approach teaching and improvisation.
Alongside performing and practicing guitar, I’ve spent the past few years teaching students of different ages and skill levels. One of my students recently achieved Distinction in Trinity Rock & Pop Grade 7, which was a rewarding milestone in my teaching journey.
I enjoy working with beginners who are just starting their musical journey as well as intermediate players who want to improve their lead guitar playing, improvisation, or overall understanding of the instrument.
My aim is to make lessons both musically rewarding and enjoyable, helping students build confidence and a deeper connection with the guitar.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students build strong fundamentals while also developing musicality and confidence on the instrument.
Lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as intermediate players who want to improve their technique, rhythm, and improvisation skills.
In our lessons we may work on:
• guitar technique and fretboard knowledge
• rhythm and timing
• learning songs and riffs
• blues phrasing and improvisation
• lead guitar development
• basic music theory applied to the guitar
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s goals and pace. Some students prefer focusing on learning songs, while others are interested in understanding improvisation and developing their own musical voice.
My aim is to keep lessons structured but relaxed, making sure students understand the instrument while also enjoying the process of learning.
