About Carolina
Hi, I'm Carolina, I'm from Caracas, Venezuela and have lived in the UK for many years. I love languages and learning about cultures. I majored in translation studies and my BA is in Modern Languages, however, I have found myself working as a language instructor countless times, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Classes are tailored to the specific needs of the client, depending on the goal. In general, my methodology will vary depending on the client and which strengths and weaknesses they have in the language. Usually the first class I will assess the level and what comes easily and naturally, as well as what poses a challenge. So classes will aim to get the most participation from the client as possible through various techniques and methodologies, such as:
- CLT (Communicative Language Teaching): where we learn by interacting in realistic contexts
- Direct Method: where we immerse ourselves in listening activities without the use of translation.
- TBLT (Task Based Language Teaching): where we apply problem solving techniques in the target language.
A session will typically be 1h to 2h, depending on the need and goal of the client.
I have over 15 years' experience as a language instructor. I have taught groups, as well as privately and I find tutoring a very rewarding experience. Learning a language doesn't need to be boring, we usually find personal interests we can work around in order to immerse ourselves in the language. It is my experience that doing or talking about what you love in a target language is key when learning, and I really strive to focus on this in every class.
