About Majella
My name is Majella Larochelle, and alpine plants have been a lifelong passion as well as a field of serious study and practical experience for me. Over the years, I have devoted myself to understanding the cultivation of alpine and rock garden plants in real northern growing conditions, with particular attention to drainage, mineral soils, winter survival, and long-term plant health.
My approach combines botanical knowledge, observation, experimentation, and respect for the natural habitats from which alpine plants originate. I believe that successful alpine gardening is not based on fashion or quick results, but on understanding how plants truly live in nature and recreating those conditions thoughtfully in the garden.
Through my courses, students learn practical, reliable techniques that can be applied in their own climate and garden conditions. I place great importance on clear explanations, patience, and honest sharing of both successes and failures, because horticulture is learned through experience as much as theory.
Whether you are a beginner discovering alpine plants for the first time or an experienced gardener wishing to deepen your knowledge, my goal is to help you grow with confidence and develop lasting success with these remarkable plants.
