About Sadie

I'm an established textile artist who has built a brand selling custom, one of one clothing. I have been sewing for over 15 years and have a vast artistry background.

Beyond textiles, I've worked in jewelry and metal making, painting, installation, ceramics, and woodworking. I am a true creative to my core. This background has given me a unique perspective on textile art, and I often combine these elements with sewing, creating unique and interesting pieces.

My work has a heavy emphasis on storytelling, creating pieces that reflect the wearer, their passions, their favorites, their childhood, the story of them.

I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism, where I studied the foundation of compelling storytelling. I'm excited to share my knowledge with you, and teach you how to share your story.

About the lesson

I will teach you how to create one-of-a-kind, wearable art. This can be done in TONS of different and fun ways! I will introduce you to your options and you can choose what you're most interested in. My personal preference is upcycling clothes, but you are not limited to clothing! We can create items for your home, animals, or whatever else you can think of.

My philosophy as an artist is that there is more than enough materials that already exist on our planet. I will teach you how to create new pieces with materials you already own, or can find second-hand. I am an established textile artist who has built a brand selling custom, one of one clothing.

My work has a heavy emphasis on storytelling, creating pieces that reflect the wearer, their passions, their favorites, their childhood, the story of them.

I work with all sewers of all levels and ages! If you're a beginner, don't worry, I won't drag on the boring sewing basics. The best way to learn to sew, is simply, to sew! We will create items that excite you.

I offer in-person and online sessions. In person classes are in the Omaha, Nebraska area.

A sewing machine is not required but HIGHLY encouraged! If you don't have a sewing machine, check your local library, crafting stores, or maker spaces to see if they offer sewing machine rentals. You can also look on Facebook Marketplace and local thrift stores for a used, budget friendly sewing machine. My favorite sewing machine is my mother's from the '80s! If you're not interested in machine sewing, we can learn to sew by hand! Feel free to ask questions, requests, and to see my work.
