My approach in the past was subjects on popular music, movies, or cultural events, solo singing, group singing. In this case, I would play clarinet, and get student to repeat notes and tone. Repetition, is the best method to adopt, new playing style.

My teaching methods are heavy emphasis on vocal skill building exercises and beginning performance skills. I also implement music theory and solfage into my lessons.
If the student has music they wish to work on I prefer to work on that. Otherwise, I will teach them classical, jazz, and pop songs. I will teach them theory and scale and chord patterns alongside the songs to give context for their use.
I believe every lesson is based around the individuals needs and ability. Lesson start with vocal warm up and depending on the students needs we would work on the relevant material. I am always willing to recommend material that is appropriate for the individuals vocal range and timbre.
I work with singers and writers of all ages. I build upon a student's existing strengths and encourage all the time. I work through each skill sequentially to build success and confidence. I guarantee an enjoyable and successful learning experience.
