About Shahrina
I'm a dedicated tutor with 15 years of experience in A Level Psychology and GCSE Science, and a badge-holding AQA examiner. I’ve supported students of all abilities — from those facing real barriers to high-flyers aiming for top grades — and I never lose sight of what matters: helping each student feel capable, confident, and in control of their learning. I chose this path because I genuinely love teaching. There’s something incredibly rewarding about breaking down complex topics, watching students grow in confidence, and seeing them achieve results they didn’t think were possible. With a degree in psychology and training in therapeutic approaches, I understand how emotions, mindset, and learning are deeply connected. That means I can offer more than just academic guidance — I support the whole student, helping them manage stress, stay motivated, and believe in what they can achieve. Teaching isn’t just my job — it’s something I care about deeply. I want every student I work with to feel seen, supported, and capable of success.

Current AQA badge-holding examiner, giving students direct insight into what examiners are really looking for. I don’t just teach content — I teach how to get the marks. Consistently outstanding feedback from students and parents. Known for making difficult topics clear, engaging, and memorable. I build confidence, improve grades, and develop exam technique that sticks. Expert in online learning, using interactive, high-energy methods tailored to each student. Every lesson is designed to boost understanding and results — no generic slides, no passive learning. I regularly use example questions written by examiners themselves, so students become confident with the exact language, structure, and thinking skills they’ll face in the real exam. I work with a wide range of learners — from students with special educational needs (SEN) to high-achieving pupils aiming for top grades. As a parent of a child with SEN, I understand how much you can struggle — but also how much you can achieve with the right support, belief, and guidance. Having completed a degree in psychology and numerous courses in therapeutic approaches, I understand the emotional and cognitive barriers that can affect learning. I provide not only expert tuition, but also emotional support and mindset coaching to help students stay motivated, reduce anxiety, and truly thrive.
