About Lauren

I have a BSc in Psychology from The University of Manchester, a PGCE in Psychology, & have been teaching it since 2010, both in Manchester and London. I was made Head of Psychology in 2013 and have an excellent record of getting the best from my students, with the majority exceeding their target grades.

I’ve also worked as an examiner on multiple papers and tutored many AS and A level students who have achieved excellent exam results and gone on to top universities.

About the lesson

My lessons are personalised to the needs of the student.

For example, if you have exams coming up soon I can provide condensed content revision, as well as exam skills practice.

Or if you’ve struggled with a particular topic (or missed a lot of lessons for it) then I can teach it to you at a pace you’re comfortable with, using a variety of techniques including discussion, worksheets and exam questions.

I have taught AQA Psychology (AS and A level) for 15 years so have excellent knowledge of the specification and a huge bank of resources I can share. I also use the “green haired girl” textbooks with my own students, so if you are familiar with those then I’ll discuss the specific studies and evaluation issues that you have already been taught at school.

As an examiner, I know exactly how to answer each type of exam question (including 16 mark essays) and can teach you to quickly identify what is needed and how to make the most of your time in the exam. I can also help you avoid the common mistakes students make which cost them marks.

I offer a free 15 minute session so we can get to know each other a little. During this time we can discuss your needs and create a tutoring plan which fulfils your goals.

My 1-to-1 prices are:
£50 for weekday daytimes
£60 for weekday evenings
£80 for weekend mornings

25% discount for 1-to-2 lessons.

I also do a Y13 revision group: Mondays 7-8pm, max 4 students, only £29.
