About Leire

¡Hola! I’m Leire, a Spanish teacher from Murcia, Spain. After four wonderful years in Milan—where I taught Spanish at several universities and at the Instituto Cervantes—I am now based in Auckland, New Zealand.

I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting (EN/IT > ES) and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I am also a certified DELE examiner for all levels, which allows me to prepare students effectively and confidently for official exams.

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve worked with learners of all ages—from young children to adults—and with a wide variety of goals, levels, and learning styles. I’ve collaborated with companies and designed specialized courses on topics such as cinema, conversation, and photography, always adapting my lessons to students’ interests and needs.

I’m genuinely passionate about my native language and about helping students discover how enjoyable, dynamic, and accessible Spanish can be. My experience has given me a deep understanding of what learners need to progress confidently and stay motivated.

About the lesson

In our first lesson, I’ll get to know you: your goals, your experience with Spanish, and what motivates you to learn. If you’re unsure about your level, I can provide a placement test so we start exactly where you need. From there, I design a fully personalized learning plan that adapts to your pace, interests, and learning style.

My classes are taught entirely in Spanish, so you’ll start improving your listening and speaking skills from day one. Don’t worry—I always adjust my language to your level, making sure you feel comfortable, supported, and confident. Every lesson includes tailored materials, interactive activities, and engaging tasks that make learning both effective and enjoyable.

I offer:

- Grammar lessons to build a solid foundation.

- Conversation classes to help you speak naturally and fluently.

- DELE preparation (all levels) with the expertise of a certified examiner.

- Specialized courses (cinema, conversation, photography, and more).

- Lessons for all ages, from children to adults.
