About Mel
Hi, I'm Mel! I've spent life navigating how to do things a little differently - living with physical and psychosocial disability. I've learned there's rarely only one way to get where you want, but there is A way!
I have lived experience of disability, I have post-grad qualifications in welfare / disability & inclusion, as well as living for, and caring for young person with disability.
I want to support young people during a period of transition, when schooling is finishing - what's next? When independence from family is wanted, how can this be done safely? When medical transitions from pediatric care to adult care needs to happen, who's in your corner then?
Having lived through these things and (successfully) come out the other side, I'd love to support others going through these transitions to ensure they're as supported and seamless as possible

Living Lab - empowering your inner boss. Mentor / Advocate for young people with disability, navigating change / transitions such as system navigation, building independence skills, increasing engagement in the community, self-advocacy, education / employment, and budgeting / building financial confidence.
Through Life Lab, I use my lived and professional experience (post-grad qual's in welfare and disability & inclusion) to help young people achieve independence, confidence and build up new skills - in a way they are most comfortable with.
I am happy to work with young people virtually or in-person
