About Susan
I am a Life Science Honors student in Biology and a Concurrent Education candidate with certification in Medical Terminology. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in biological sciences, as well as the skills needed to teach complex concepts in a clear and approachable way.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in science by focusing on understanding rather than memorization. I use a patient, step-by-step teaching approach that adapts to each student’s learning style, whether they learn best through visuals, repetition, or hands-on problem solving. My goal is to make science feel less overwhelming and more engaging by connecting concepts to real-life examples.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where questions are always welcome. I aim to help students improve not only their grades, but also their confidence and independence in learning.

As a Life Science Honours student in Biology and a Concurrent Education candidate with certification in Medical Terminology, I specialize in breaking down complex science topics into simple, easy-to-follow explanations that make sense for middle school and high school learners. I use a step-by-step teaching style that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and real-world connections to help students truly understand the material.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous content to reinforce learning and identify any areas of difficulty. We then move into the main topic, where I explain key concepts using clear language, diagrams, and examples. After that, we work through guided practice questions together, gradually increasing difficulty to build confidence. Each session ends with a short recap and targeted practice suggestions so students know exactly what to focus on before the next lesson.
