About Kristelle

Hi, I'm Kristelle, your future Spanish Tutor! I am currently a Foreign Language/Linguistics Student, with a specification in Spanish, at Fullerton College, and I have a strong passion and love for language education. Spanish is actually my third language. English was my first language, and Korean was my second! That being said, I was lucky enough to grow up in a multicultural household, which made learning Spanish in high school very easy for me. I soon progressed beyond what I was learning in school and have been speaking Spanish fluently for about 6 years.

Although I am not Hispanic, I take great care in making sure my students not only learn the language but the culture and history as well. I have been teaching Spanish privately for about 5 years, and many of my past students are now fully fluent in the language. A lot of those students also came from Spanish speaking households and expressed to me that I was the first Spanish teach they had who made them feel safe and taught them well.

Throughout my time learning Spanish and observing my peers, I noticed that many language instructors often taught with a one-size-fits-all approach. However, this is not at their fault since they were required to follow curriculums required by the school district. That being said, I created a skeleton curriculum that I modify depending on my students to best fit the needs of each of my students. This means that the same information can be taught to people in two completely different ways. This method is something I've found to be most effective for my students, and they often enjoy my classes as a result of it.

About the lesson

I take a slightly different approach to language learning that is more tailored to each of my students. This personalized course helps my students reach their highest potential, and most become conversational within 6 months and fluent within 1 year. There is a lot of variety in my lessons, so you're rarely learning the same thing in the same way. There will be music, games, conversation, tongue twisters, and many other engaging activities to help you learn Spanish!

My students and I build close relationships so that I can fully tailor a curriculum suited just for them, and I have a curriculum of my own creation that has proven time and time again to be successful. I also make sure that my classes are a safe space for my students, which gives them space to grow as they need to.

These lessons can be for anyone who wishes to learn Spanish and has a strong desire to do so! I have slightly different approaches between children and adults, and I'm happy to teach anyone from the ages of 10 and older! :)
