About Chima

I'm a well-trained researcher and lecturer with about 13 years of experience teaching and assessing students at different universities and colleges across the UK, including University of Huddersfield, Bath Spa University, Arden University and Blackpool University Centre. I hold a first/undergraduate degree and 2 postgraduate research degrees in psychology and criminology from the University of Huddersfield. I have many publications and a dozen of them are peer-reviewed journal articles, mostly involving empirical data.

I am happy to teach individuals and groups in any topics in psychology, criminology, criminal justice and qualitative research methods (e.g., thematic analysis, interpretative phenomenological analysis, discourse analysis, etc.). I also teach some topics in sociology that intersect with psychological and criminological theories/models. Feel free to ask me.

I would describe myself as an expert in assisting students with their dissertation projects, particularly those who feel frustrated or stressed as their submission deadlines approach. If you have ever been frustrated by ethics forms and unsure what constitutes psychological or physical harm, deception and more, as well as how to safeguard anonymity and confidentiality, worry no further, as I have done this numerous times and have first-hand experience following my degrees and a dozen peer-reviewed publications.

I am flexible with my schedule and can arrange things in a way that is mutually convenient for both of us. Kindly note that I'm a qualitative researcher, thus, unable to help you with qualitative analysis although I can assist with other sections of your research report if you need this.

About the lesson

I adopt a flexible approach depending on what suits you best. Hence, I offer the first 30 minutes of my lessons free of charge to enable me discuss your work, preferred approach and expectations. We can meet in person at a mutually agreed/convenient place within London, such as my home (if free at the time), your home, local library, etc. However, for me to visit your home or meet you elsewhere, you must book a least 2.5 hours of lesson for a single meeting to enable me cover the commuting costs and time. Much longer distances from my postcode may attract additional costs.

I'm happy to meet you online and I'm comfortable with different apps, including Google Meet, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc. depending on your preference. In addition to lessons, I do offer feedback and proofreading services. You can send me your completed work without necessarily booking a lesson and I will provide you with detailed feedback, using trackchanges to point out any shortcomings in your work and how to address them. I can also proofread your work for you if you request this.
