I am a London College Of Fashion Graduate with years of experience in the industry. I teach sewing lessons to people of all ages. I offer online lessons, but one-on-one lessons may also be possible.

About Millie
I grew up in a home where an old Singer foot-pedal sewing machine was the centre of our existence. My mother would sew beautiful dresses for my siblings and me. I caught the sewing bug from a very early age and learnt all I could from my mother. Later, I formalised my training in various learning institutions, mainly the London College of Fashion. I learned Ladies' Haute Couture and Men's Bespoke tailoring.
We also learned About off-the-peg clothing Manufacturing and pattern cutting. I loved pattern cutting with a passion and went on to work as a pattern cutter for parts of my career.
I have also worked for myself, making things from soft furnishing/ upholstering to full attire for weddings (the Wedding Dress being the key), which was exciting because I would always get an invite to the wedding.
However, I will focus my Tutoring on and around the knowledge needed to make off-the-peg Garments, sometimes referred to as Pret-A-Porter. The skills of making off-the-peg garments are more easily packaged and transferable.

I envision how I would like to teach sewing, constantly developing new ideas and strategies. However, I understand the need for my students to feel on a progressive path of learning and how time and money factor into this. Creativity and passion are the foundation of all I do. Sewing is obviously something you're interested in, so tell me your goals, and we can tailor your lessons accordingly.

Perfect! Millie is an amazing tutor! She takes you through the steps of using a sewing machine, so that you actually understand what you're doing. I learnt a lot in just an hour, Will go away and practise it, and looking forward to the next lesson! I highly recommend Millie as a sewing tutor.
