About Owen

Hello there! My name is Owen, and I am from Idaho! All my life, I knew I wanted a career were I felt fulfilled and could help people and serve my community! That's what inspired me to go into Emergency Services and become a first responder! During my senior year of high school, I enrolled in an EMT College Course offered by my high school for dual credit as well! That class opened my eyes to the amazing world of working as a first responder and after the class was over I had the pleasure of volunteering with my Local Fire Department! I gained lots of incredible knowledge and job skills to take with me forever into my career as well as all sorts of experience with different kinds of injuries, illnesses, natural problems, and thousands of different kinds of patients! I now currently work in a Law Enforcement setting where I constantly use my EMT skills and deal with difficult situations on the regular! I have such a big passion for Emergency Services and helping the community and keeping it safe that I wanted to help educate our next generation of first responders and that's why I am here! Whatever you need help with, I am here to accomplish that, and I strive to provide a positive teaching environment as well as accomplish tasks and hopefully provide the student with a better understanding with whatever they are struggling with as I use detailed reports, personal experiences gained on the job, PowerPoints, videos and picures! I look forward to working with all of you soon, and turning you all into incredible first responders, so one day, no matter the circumstances, you can go out and serve your community! -Owen

About the lesson

Why should you come to me? My teaching techniques are unique! I got through school by being a very visual learner! I use visual aids such as graphs, PowerPoints, pictures, videos to educate, as well as speak from personal experiences I have gained while on the job! As a first responder, lots of the things we see are not great, so before any lesson were visual aids might be used, I like to go over what my student feels comfortable with, and direct my strategies to comply with what the students feels comfortable with! A typical tutor session really depends on what the student is needing help on of course. I like to listen to the student, hear them out, hear what they are excelling at, and also what they are struggling with. I then will direct my strategies around that. My lessons are for anyone that needs help, no matter if your entry level, interested in the career and need some guidance, maybe trying to earn your degree, further your job skills, or even taking a refresher course! I normally aim for about an hr to 1.5 hr lesson but any duration needed we can work with! I am here to help with all needs!
