About Adam

I’m Adam Botirov, a mathematics educator with over five years of experience teaching mathematics and English, currently pursuing an MSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba.

My educational background includes a Civil Systems Engineering degree from Ajou University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International)—PGCEi—from the University of Nottingham, and CELTA. These experiences bring together subject knowledge, teacher education and an understanding of how to communicate clearly with learners from different backgrounds.

My teaching experience includes individual tutoring, group lessons, classroom teaching and online instruction, alongside academic management at Richmond School Learning Center. I have taught algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, pre-calculus, introductory calculus and SAT Mathematics.

I believe effective teaching begins with understanding the learner. I plan lessons around each student’s starting point, use questions to identify misconceptions and provide specific feedback that helps students improve. My engineering background also allows me to connect mathematical concepts with practical applications.

I work with secondary school students and learners beginning university mathematics. Whether you are rebuilding your foundations or preparing for an assessment, my aim is to offer patient, well-organized support that develops understanding, confidence and independent problem-solving.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on helping you understand mathematics and become more confident solving problems independently. You can ask questions, take your time and learn from mistakes without feeling judged.

I use a student-centred approach: we begin by identifying what you already understand, where you need support and what you want to achieve. Each lesson has a clear learning goal, followed by step-by-step explanations, worked examples, guided practice and independent questions. We finish by reviewing your progress and deciding what to practise next.

I adapt the pace and difficulty to your needs, using diagrams, thoughtful questions and practical examples from engineering to make abstract ideas easier to understand. My feedback explains both what went well and how to improve.

Lessons are suitable for students in Grades 10–12 and introductory university mathematics, including algebra, functions, trigonometry and calculus. Whether you are strengthening your foundations or preparing for an exam, we will work towards clear, achievable goals.
