Former Merchant Navy officer with 10 years’ seafaring experience and now a practicing marine surveyor, I tutor primary students (ages 7–12) in English, Math, Science, Bahasa Malaysia, and Geography. Lessons are tailored to each child’s pace, include practical examples and interactive activities, and come with concise progress notes to track improvement.

About the lesson

I deliver student-centered, goal-driven lessons that blend clear explanation, active practice, and regular feedback to turn confusion into confidence.

My methodology uses scaffolding: I model concepts, break topics into manageable steps, and guide learners from supported practice to independent problem-solving. Each student receives a personalized plan with short-term milestones, targeted homework, and formative checks that identify gaps and shape future sessions. Lessons emphasize real-world application through past-paper practice, project tasks, and digital resources to reinforce learning.

Standard sessions run 60 minutes for focused teaching and practice, with flexible 30 minutes reviews or 90 minutes intensive blocks available for exam preparation or projects. I recommend weekly 60 - 90 minutes lessons for steady progress, supplemented by short check-ins before assessments.

I hold a Degree in Nautical Science and bring several years of one-to-one and small-group tutoring experience, with a track record of improving confidence and measurable results.

Sessions are punctual, well-prepared, and include concise progress notes after each meeting.

My lessons suit beginners mainly focusing on primary students, as well as advanced learning for those in the Nautical Industry; I adapt pace, examples, and assessment to the student’s age and level to ensure lessons are engaging, effective, and aligned with each learner’s goals.
