About Joseph
I have a Master's degree in percussion performance from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I have been a musical director and drummer in the West End, London, on the Las Vegas Strip, and in New York NY as well as have toured the world extensively with various shows. Some of my performance credits include Chaka Khan, Peabo Bryson, Melissa Manchester, Bobby Caldwell, Joe Williams, Marlena Shaw, as well as many Broadway/West End shows. Having been in the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, I have an extensive knowledge of rudimental snare drumming which provides the perfect most solid foundation for very beginners as well as providing challenging material for the more advanced drummer, so all are welcome! I have also spent decades teaching, composing and arranging for percussion ensembles in schools as well as providing one-on-one lessons at the secondary and University levels.

I specialise in drum set, all styles. With an emphasis on rudimental drumming as a rock-solid foundation, I also incorporate popular music as you and I pick songs for you to work on. Book learning is also employed but is secondary to diving into the music and having some fun playing drums! Lessons are typically one hour long broken into two sections; warm-up/technique exercises, and playing to your favourite songs. Any specialised requirements can be accommodated as the lessons are bespoke and tailored to each student's needs whether it be working towards school exams or focusing on specific styles/genres.

This first lesson offered with Joseph will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details
The first (free) lesson will be online via webcam/Zoom and will consist of getting to know each other a bit and deciding what the student would like the focus to be. This will be followed by a short session to begin rudimental training and music theory.
If the student would like to come to me for lessons, they will have to pay for a rehearsal studio which will be somewhere in the range of £12.50 per hour. I can travel to the student if they are in the SW post code for an additional fee of £5. Travelling outside this area will incur further charges depending on the location.
