About Tyler
I am an experienced violin tutor with 18+ years of teaching practice and a strong record of teaching around 300 students. I work with learners from high school, college, and adult levels, helping them build both skill and confidence. My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning simple, effective, and enjoyable.
I pay close attention to fundamentals such as posture, bow movement, and tone quality. I also help students understand rhythm and musical expression. My lessons include a mix of exercises, scales, and songs to keep students interested.
One of my notable achievements is helping students improve quickly and play with confidence. I also guide students in preparing for performances and personal goals. My aim is to help students enjoy music while developing strong violin skills.

My violin teaching methodology combines clear communication, flexibility, and hands-on learning. I carefully assess each student’s learning style and adapt lessons to suit their needs, ensuring they grasp techniques effectively and enjoy the process.
I focus on developing posture, bowing, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and expressive skills while fostering creativity and personal interpretation. I use real-life examples such as learning songs they enjoy, practising for performances, and understanding music’s emotional and practical applications to make lessons engaging.
I also teach related subjects including music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano to develop comprehensive musical skills. My aim is to create a positive, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel confident, improve steadily, and cultivate a lifelong love for music.
